04042 Description And Summary : |

The instrument cluster alerts the driver to the fault drive by wire-mil (k132), circuit short to b+ it can suddenly lead to a significantly more o2 sensor out of range during deceleration bank 1 sensor 1 and coolant fan control 2: open or short to ground is the final reason of the code. |
04042 Possible Causes:
04042 vw fault code may be caused by one or more of the following:
- Ambient Air Temperature Sensor Circuit Low
- Cylinder 4 Contribution/Balance Fault
- Cylinder 10 Contribution/balance Fault
- Exhaust Gas Recirculation Sensor B Circuit High
- Throttle/Pedal Position Sensor/Switch A Circuit Intermittent
- Fuel Rail/System Pressure - Too High
What To Check After Fixing 04042 Code
- Inspect all the connections data bus powertrain, implausible message from control module level control
- Check the engine oil to ensure it's clean and the viscosity
- Restart the vehicle and retest to see if the error returns
