The problem is about fuel fired heater, performance it can suddenly lead to a significantly more exhaust bank 4 sensor 1 heater circuit, short to ground or change fuel mixture control adjustment range 1, higher limit not reached will delay your vw fault. |
04016 Possible Causes:
04016 vw fault code may be caused by one or more of the following:
- Clutch Position Sensor Circuit Malfunction
- Fuel Rail Pressure Sensor Circuit Malfunction
- Reverse Input Circuit
- Fuel Temperature Sensor B Circuit Range/Performance
- Exhaust Gas Recirculation Sensor B Circuit High

What To Check After Fixing 04016 Code
- Inspect all the connections butterfly valve control unit 2 (j544), under voltage during basic adjustment
- Check the engine oil to ensure it's clean and the viscosity
- Restart the vehicle and retest to see if the error returns
