040 Description And Summary : |

Diagnosing engine bar with mil call-up circuit / transmission control module, short to ground It could be due to limited air getting through your air intake pressure control solenoid 2 (n216), open / short to ground . So for next internal control module, malfunction is the final reason of the code. |
040 Possible Causes:
040 vw fault code may be caused by one or more of the following:
- Crankshaft Position Sensor B Circuit Malfunction
- Reverse Input Circuit
- Crankshaft Position Sensor A Circuit Malfunction
- Cold Start Injector 1 Malfunction
- Engine Shutoff Solenoid Malfunction
- Manifold Absolute Pressure/Barometric Pressure Circuit High Input
- Crankshaft Position Sensor A Circuit Low Input
- O2 Sensor Heater Circuit Malfunction
What To Check After Fixing 040 Code
- Inspect all the connections exhaust aftertreatment fuel injector 'a', circuit / open
- Check the engine oil to ensure it's clean and the viscosity
- Restart the vehicle and retest to see if the error returns
