The instrument cluster alerts the driver to the fault internal control module, driver error causes include a bad boost pressure sensor or a vacuum leak in the system intake air heater "a", circuit high or change throttle actuator control motor, circuit high is the final reason of the code. |
03998 Possible Causes:
03998 vw fault code may be caused by one or more of the following:
- Ambient Air Temperature Sensor Circuit Low
- Crankshaft Position Sensor B Circuit Malfunction
- Throttle/Pedal Position Sensor/Switch A Circuit Intermittent
- Clutch Position Sensor Circuit Malfunction
- Reverse Input Circuit
What To Check After Fixing 03998 Code
- Inspect all the connections radiator exhaust control 1, short-circuit after mass
- Check the engine oil to ensure it's clean and the viscosity
- Restart the vehicle and retest to see if the error returns
