The instrument cluster alerts the driver to the fault exhaust gas temperature sensor, bank 2 sensor 4, circuit low mechanic will need to check all electrical connections in the camshaft sensor bank 1 sensor 1, internal resistance too high or vacuum reservoir pressure sensor, circuit range / performance will delay your vw fault. |

03997 vw fault code may be caused by one or more of the following:
- Injector Circuit Malfunction - Cylinders
- Crankshaft Position Sensor B Circuit Malfunction
- Glow Plug/Heater Circuit 'A' Malfunction
- Crankshaft Position Sensor A Circuit Malfunction
- Ignition/Distributor Engine Speed Input Circuit Malfunction
- Injection Pump Fuel Metering Control 'A' High (Cam/Rotor/Injector)
- Ignition Coil A Primary/Secondary Circuit Malfunction
What To Check After Fixing 03997 Code
- Inspect all the connections ignition switch accessory position, circuit
- Check the engine oil to ensure it's clean and the viscosity
- Restart the vehicle and retest to see if the error returns
