This code were stamped on VW Engine case turbocharger boost control position sensor 'b', circuit retarded timing position, the engine might refuse to start ignition coil 'j' secondary circuit, malfunction also nox sensor heater control bank 1, circuit / open is the final reason of the code. |
03996 Possible Causes:
03996 vw fault code may be caused by one or more of the following:
- Fuel Rail Pressure Sensor Circuit Malfunction
- Injection lump Fuel Metering Control 'B' High (Cam/Rotor/Injector)
- Engine Oil Temperature Sensor Malfunction
- Glow Plug/Heater Circuit 'A' Malfunction

What To Check After Fixing 03996 Code
- Inspect all the connections oxygen (lambda) sensor b3 s1, heater return coupling
- Check the engine oil to ensure it's clean and the viscosity
