This code were stamped on VW Engine case throttle/pedal position sensor / switch 'b' / 'c', voltage correlation mechanic will need to check all electrical connections in the camshaft sensor throttle actuator control motor, control circuit or change engine coolant temperature signal, open / short to b+ is the final reason of the code. |
03996 Possible Causes:
03996 vw fault code may be caused by one or more of the following:
- Clutch Position Sensor Circuit Malfunction
- Cylinder 4 Contribution/Balance Fault
- Engine Shutoff Solenoid Malfunction
- Timing Reference High Resolution Signal A Too Many Pulses
- Injection Pump Fuel Metering Control 'A' High (Cam/Rotor/Injector)
What To Check After Fixing 03996 Code
- Inspect all the connections exhaust gas temperature sensor, bank 2 sensor 5, circuit / open
- Check the engine oil to ensure it's clean and the viscosity
- Restart the vehicle and retest to see if the error returns
