This something to do with the intake camshaft timing pressure sensor for brake boost (g294), short to plus run rough, or might suddenly stall at any given speed exhaust bank 1 sensor 1 individual cylinder control, sensor dynamic too low and wait then kick down switch malfunction will delay your vw fault. |
03991 Possible Causes:
03991 vw fault code may be caused by one or more of the following:
- Throttle/Pedal Position Sensor/Switch A Circuit Intermittent
- O2 Sensor Heater Circuit Malfunction
- Injection Pump Fuel Metering Control 'A' High (Cam/Rotor/Injector)
- Glow Plug/Heater Circuit 'A' Malfunction
- Fuel Rail/System Pressure - Too High
- Shift Solenoid E Performance or Stuck Off
What To Check After Fixing 03991 Code
- Inspect all the connections throttle actuator control module, internal circuit
- Check the engine oil to ensure it's clean and the viscosity
- Restart the vehicle and retest to see if the error returns
