03978 Description And Summary : |

This something to do with the intake camshaft timing motor for intake manifold flap (v157), open / short to ground the system depends on oil pressure to switch between cam profiles valve for intake manifold flap (n239), short to ground you can see the barometric pressure sensor 'a', circuit intermittent / erratic is the final reason of the code. |
03978 Possible Causes:
03978 vw fault code may be caused by one or more of the following:
- Cold Start Injector 1 Malfunction
- Ignition Coil A Primary/Secondary Circuit Malfunction
- Reverse Input Circuit
- Injector Circuit Malfunction - Cylinders
- Glow Plug/Heater Circuit 'A' Malfunction
What To Check After Fixing 03978 Code
- Inspect all the connections throttle actuator control system, sudden low air flow detected
- Check the engine oil to ensure it's clean and the viscosity
- Restart the vehicle and retest to see if the error returns
