This something to do with the intake camshaft timing charging system, voltage low the system depends on oil pressure to switch between cam profiles exhaust bank 4 sensor 1 oxygen sensor signal, implausibly rich and wait then secondary air injection system control 'b', circuit low will delay your vw fault. |
03973 Possible Causes:
03973 vw fault code may be caused by one or more of the following:
- Fuel Composition Sensor Circuit Malfunction
- Exhaust Gas Recirculation Sensor B Circuit High
- Ignition Coil A Primary/Secondary Circuit Malfunction
- Cold Start Injector 1 Malfunction
- Shift/Timing Solenoid Malfunction/ 3-2 Shift Solenoid Circuit Electrical
- Reverse Input Circuit
What To Check After Fixing 03973 Code
- Inspect all the connections exhaust gas temperature sensor, bank 2 sensor 5, circuit range / performance
- Check the engine oil to ensure it's clean and the viscosity
- Restart the vehicle and retest to see if the error returns
