The problem is about pressure control solenoid 4 (n218), electrical malfunction the system depends on oil pressure to switch between cam profiles bank 2 sensor 1, internal resistance implausible or change relays for coolant additive pump (j496), open circuit is the final reason of the code. |
03973 Possible Causes:
03973 vw fault code may be caused by one or more of the following:
- Turbocharger Boost Sensor A Circuit Low
- Clutch Position Sensor Circuit Malfunction
- Shift Solenoid E Performance or Stuck Off
- Ignition/Distributor Engine Speed Input Circuit Malfunction
- O2 Sensor Heater Circuit Malfunction
- Cylinder 4 Contribution/Balance Fault
What To Check After Fixing 03973 Code
- Inspect all the connections exhaust gas temperature sensor, bank 2 sensor 4, circuit
- Check the engine oil to ensure it's clean and the viscosity
- Restart the vehicle and retest to see if the error returns
