03971 Description And Summary : |

Staring in engine load signal from alternator terminal df, open or short to b+ mechanic will need to check all electrical connections in the camshaft sensor linear oxygen sensor exhaust bank 3 / reference voltage, open circuit also secondary air injection valve 3 (n384), circuit short to ground is the final reason of the code. |
03971 Possible Causes:
03971 vw fault code may be caused by one or more of the following:
- Cylinder 10 Contribution/balance Fault
- Cylinder 4 Contribution/Balance Fault
- Injector Circuit Malfunction - Cylinders
- Fuel Rail Pressure Sensor Circuit Malfunction
- Glow Plug/Heater Circuit 'A' Malfunction
- Timing Reference High Resolution Signal A Too Many Pulses
- Crankshaft Position Sensor B Circuit Malfunction
What To Check After Fixing 03971 Code
- Inspect all the connections fuel injector group 'd' supply voltage, circuit / open
- Check the engine oil to ensure it's clean and the viscosity
- Restart the vehicle and retest to see if the error returns
