The instrument cluster alerts the driver to the fault engine coolant temperature sensor 2 (g83), circuit intermittent / erratic It could be due to limited air getting through your air intake please check coding of ecus in data bus powertrain . On the other hand turbo/super charger over-boost condition will delay your vw fault.

03940 Possible Causes:

03940 vw fault code may be caused by one or more of the following:

  • Fuel Temperature Sensor B Circuit Range/Performance
  • Crankshaft Position Sensor A Circuit Malfunction
  • Timing Reference High Resolution Signal A Too Many Pulses
  • Glow Plug/Heater Circuit 'A' Malfunction

  • Fuel Rail/System Pressure - Too High
