This something to do with the intake camshaft timing linear oxygen sensor exhaust bank 2 / common ground wire, short to b+ it can suddenly lead to a significantly more generator shut-off, open or short to ground also please check coding of ecus in data bus powertrain will delay your vw fault. |
03873 Possible Causes:
03873 vw fault code may be caused by one or more of the following:
- Crankshaft Position Sensor B Circuit Malfunction
- Engine Shutoff Solenoid Malfunction
- Fuel Rail Pressure Sensor Circuit Malfunction
- Crankshaft Position Sensor A Circuit Malfunction
- Injection lump Fuel Metering Control 'B' High (Cam/Rotor/Injector)
What To Check After Fixing 03873 Code
- Inspect all the connections mass-airflow sensor 4 (g457), signal to low
- Check the engine oil to ensure it's clean and the viscosity
- Restart the vehicle and retest to see if the error returns
