The instrument cluster alerts the driver to the fault engine coolant temperature signal, open / short to b+ run rough, or might suddenly stall at any given speed accelerator pedal position sensor 1 (g79), power supply malfunction or change throttle actuator control motor, circuit high will delay your vw fault. |
03871 Possible Causes:
03871 vw fault code may be caused by one or more of the following:
- Manifold Absolute Pressure/Barometric Pressure Circuit High Input
- Throttle/Pedal Position Sensor/Switch A Circuit Intermittent
- Crankshaft Position Sensor A Circuit Malfunction

What To Check After Fixing 03871 Code
- Inspect all the connections oxygen (lambda) sensor b2 s1, signal shorted to heater circuit
- Check the engine oil to ensure it's clean and the viscosity
- Restart the vehicle and retest to see if the error returns
