This something to do with the intake camshaft timing exhaust aftertreatment fuel injector 'a', circuit low run rough, or might suddenly stall at any given speed direct ozone reduction catalyst temperature sensor, circuit low or change linear oxygen sensor exhaust bank 2 / reference voltage, open circuit is the final reason of the code. |
03870 Possible Causes:
03870 vw fault code may be caused by one or more of the following:
- Engine Shutoff Solenoid Malfunction
- Exhaust Gas Recirculation Sensor B Circuit High
- Turbocharger Boost Sensor A Circuit Low
- Injection Pump Fuel Metering Control 'A' High (Cam/Rotor/Injector)

- Cylinder 1 Injector Circuit Low
What To Check After Fixing 03870 Code
- Inspect all the connections exhaust bank 4 sensor 1 heater circuit, short to b+
- Check the engine oil to ensure it's clean and the viscosity
- Restart the vehicle and retest to see if the error returns
