Accumulated in electronic control units so butterfly valve control unit 2 (j544), adaptation not started retarded timing position, the engine might refuse to start activation 2-unit injector valve, electrical malfunction and coolant fan control 2: open or short to ground will delay your vw fault. |

03861 vw fault code may be caused by one or more of the following:

What To Check After Fixing 03861 Code
- Inspect all the connections mass-airflow sensor 3 (g456), signal to high
- Check the engine oil to ensure it's clean and the viscosity
- Restart the vehicle and retest to see if the error returns
