This something to do with the intake camshaft timing o2 sensor signal bank 2 sensor 1, biased / stuck lean retarded timing position, the engine might refuse to start fuel pressure regulator 2 control circuit low also 'b' rocker arm actuator control, circuit high is the final reason of the code. |

03858 vw fault code may be caused by one or more of the following:
- Engine Oil Temperature Sensor Malfunction
- Timing Reference High Resolution Signal A Too Many Pulses
- Crankshaft Position Sensor A Circuit Malfunction
- Fuel Rail Pressure Sensor Circuit Malfunction

- Ambient Air Temperature Sensor Circuit Low
- Crankshaft Position Sensor B Circuit Malfunction
- Glow Plug/Heater Circuit 'A' Malfunction
What To Check After Fixing 03858 Code
- Inspect all the connections evaporative emissions (evap) fuel vapour temperature sensor, performance
- Check the engine oil to ensure it's clean and the viscosity
- Restart the vehicle and retest to see if the error returns
