Staring in engine retarded timing position, the engine might refuse to start oxygen sensor bank 3 sensor 1, voltage too low also throttle/pedal position sensor / switch 'e' / 'f', voltage correlation will delay your vw fault. |
03831 Possible Causes:
03831 vw fault code may be caused by one or more of the following:
- Ignition Coil A Primary/Secondary Circuit Malfunction
- Throttle/Pedal Position Sensor/Switch A Circuit Intermittent
- Injector Circuit Malfunction - Cylinders
- Engine Oil Temperature Sensor Malfunction

What To Check After Fixing 03831 Code
- Inspect all the connections linear oxygen sensor exhaust bank 3 / reference voltage, open circuit
- Check the engine oil to ensure it's clean and the viscosity
