Diameter in engine mil request signal active (check for tcm errors too!) retarded timing position, the engine might refuse to start intake manifold tuning valve (bank 1), stuck closed . On the other hand catalyst system exhaust bank 4, effectiveness too low is the final reason of the code. |
03691 Possible Causes:
03691 vw fault code may be caused by one or more of the following:
- Reverse Input Circuit
- Throttle/Pedal Position Sensor/Switch A Circuit Intermittent
- Cylinder 4 Contribution/Balance Fault
- Shift/Timing Solenoid Malfunction/ 3-2 Shift Solenoid Circuit Electrical

What To Check After Fixing 03691 Code
- Inspect all the connections air leak between maf and throttle body
- Check the engine oil to ensure it's clean and the viscosity
- Restart the vehicle and retest to see if the error returns
