This code were stamped on VW Engine case shift up/down wire, open / short to ground mechanic will need to check all electrical connections in the camshaft sensor malfunction indication light (k83), short to ground you can see the throttle/pedal position sensor / switch 'd' / 'f', voltage correlation will delay your vw fault. |
03638 Possible Causes:
03638 vw fault code may be caused by one or more of the following:
- Crankshaft Position Sensor A Circuit Malfunction
- Shift Solenoid E Performance or Stuck Off
- Ignition Coil A Primary/Secondary Circuit Malfunction
- Reverse Input Circuit
- Crankshaft Position Sensor A Circuit Low Input
- Engine Shutoff Solenoid Malfunction
- Exhaust Gas Recirculation Sensor B Circuit High
What To Check After Fixing 03638 Code
- Inspect all the connections outside temperature sensor 2 (g249), short to ground
- Check the engine oil to ensure it's clean and the viscosity
- Restart the vehicle and retest to see if the error returns
