This something to do with the intake camshaft timing exhaust pressure regulator vent solenoid, control circuit high retarded timing position, the engine might refuse to start secondary air injection system pump bank 1, stuck off you can see the ignition coil 'i' primary control, circuit low will delay your vw fault. |
03478 Possible Causes:
03478 vw fault code may be caused by one or more of the following:
- Throttle/Pedal Position Sensor/Switch A Circuit Intermittent
- Cylinder 1 Injector Circuit Low
- Glow Plug/Heater Circuit 'A' Malfunction
- Crankshaft Position Sensor B Circuit Malfunction
- Turbocharger Boost Sensor A Circuit Low
- Cylinder 10 Contribution/balance Fault
What To Check After Fixing 03478 Code
- Inspect all the connections intake manifold tuning (imt) valve position sensor / switch bank 1, circuit intermittent
- Check the engine oil to ensure it's clean and the viscosity
- Restart the vehicle and retest to see if the error returns
