This something to do with the intake camshaft timing ignition coil 'g' secondary circuit, malfunction mechanic will need to check all electrical connections in the camshaft sensor throttle/fuel inhibit, circuit and wait then throttle/pedal position sensor 'e', minimum stop performance will delay your vw fault. |
03171 Possible Causes:
03171 vw fault code may be caused by one or more of the following:
- Injection lump Fuel Metering Control 'B' High (Cam/Rotor/Injector)
- Fuel Temperature Sensor B Circuit Range/Performance
- Glow Plug/Heater Circuit 'A' Malfunction
- Engine Shutoff Solenoid Malfunction
- Crankshaft Position Sensor A Circuit Malfunction
- Cylinder 10 Contribution/balance Fault
- Shift Solenoid E Performance or Stuck Off
What To Check After Fixing 03171 Code
- Inspect all the connections turbocharger boost control position sensor, circuit low
- Check the engine oil to ensure it's clean and the viscosity
- Restart the vehicle and retest to see if the error returns
