This something to do with the intake camshaft timing 'b' rocker arm actuator control, circuit low the system depends on oil pressure to switch between cam profiles signal line for tiptronic: electrical malfunction you can see the throttle/pedal position sensor / switch 'f', circuit intermittent will delay your vw fault. |

02997 vw fault code may be caused by one or more of the following:
- Fuel Rail/System Pressure - Too High
- Exhaust Gas Recirculation Sensor B Circuit High
- Injector Circuit Malfunction - Cylinders
- Fuel Rail Pressure Sensor Circuit Malfunction
- Glow Plug/Heater Circuit 'A' Malfunction
What To Check After Fixing 02997 Code
- Inspect all the connections secondary air injection valve 3 (n384), circuit short to ground
- Check the engine oil to ensure it's clean and the viscosity
- Restart the vehicle and retest to see if the error returns
