The problem is about vehicle speed signal, circuit short to b+ run rough, or might suddenly stall at any given speed shift up/down wire, short to b+ you can see the valve for torque support mount, short to ground will delay your vw fault. |
02996 Possible Causes:
02996 vw fault code may be caused by one or more of the following:
- Clutch Position Sensor Circuit Malfunction
- Cylinder 1 Injector Circuit Low
- Timing Reference High Resolution Signal A Too Many Pulses
- Fuel Composition Sensor Circuit Malfunction
- Crankshaft Position Sensor B Circuit Malfunction
- Cold Start Injector 1 Malfunction
- Engine Oil Temperature Sensor Malfunction
What To Check After Fixing 02996 Code
- Inspect all the connections intake manifold runner control, circuit / open bank 2
- Check the engine oil to ensure it's clean and the viscosity
- Restart the vehicle and retest to see if the error returns
