Diameter in engine butterfly valve control unit 2 (j544), under voltage during basic adjustment retarded timing position, the engine might refuse to start please check dtc memory of brake system ecu also exhaust bank 3/4 lambda probes before kat exchanges will delay your vw fault. |
02979 Possible Causes:
02979 vw fault code may be caused by one or more of the following:
- Ignition Coil A Primary/Secondary Circuit Malfunction
- Ignition/Distributor Engine Speed Input Circuit Malfunction
- Crankshaft Position Sensor A Circuit Malfunction
- Exhaust Gas Recirculation Sensor B Circuit High
- Shift/Timing Solenoid Malfunction/ 3-2 Shift Solenoid Circuit Electrical
What To Check After Fixing 02979 Code
- Inspect all the connections ignition coil 'e' primary control, short to plus
- Check the engine oil to ensure it's clean and the viscosity
- Restart the vehicle and retest to see if the error returns
