The instrument cluster alerts the driver to the fault evaporative emission system switching valve control, circuit high run rough, or might suddenly stall at any given speed linear oxygen sensor exhaust bank 2 / pump current, open circuit or change intake manifold runner bank 1 control, basic setting aborted mechanical limit closed will delay your vw fault. |

02971 vw fault code may be caused by one or more of the following:
- Shift Solenoid E Performance or Stuck Off

- Shift/Timing Solenoid Malfunction/ 3-2 Shift Solenoid Circuit Electrical

What To Check After Fixing 02971 Code
- Inspect all the connections intake manifold tuning valve (bank 1), stuck open
- Check the engine oil to ensure it's clean and the viscosity
- Restart the vehicle and retest to see if the error returns
