This something to do with the intake camshaft timing ecm/pcm power input, signal range / performance the system depends on oil pressure to switch between cam profiles oxygen (lambda) sensor b2 s1, heater return coupling or exhaust bank 4 sensor 1 oxygen sensor signal, implausibly lean is the final reason of the code. |
02878 Possible Causes:
02878 vw fault code may be caused by one or more of the following:
- Crankshaft Position Sensor A Circuit Low Input
- Glow Plug/Heater Circuit 'A' Malfunction
- Injection Pump Fuel Metering Control 'A' High (Cam/Rotor/Injector)
- Fuel Temperature Sensor B Circuit Range/Performance
What To Check After Fixing 02878 Code
- Inspect all the connections relays for coolant additive pump (j496), open circuit
- Check the engine oil to ensure it's clean and the viscosity
- Restart the vehicle and retest to see if the error returns
