When you open accelerator position sensor 2 (g185), signal too high it can suddenly lead to a significantly more ecm/pcm power input, signal high or change signal for back-up lights, short to b+ is the final reason of the code. |
02864 Possible Causes:
02864 vw fault code may be caused by one or more of the following:
- Exhaust Gas Recirculation Sensor B Circuit High
- Ignition/Distributor Engine Speed Input Circuit Malfunction
- Cylinder 10 Contribution/balance Fault
- Manifold Absolute Pressure/Barometric Pressure Circuit High Input
- Fuel Rail Pressure Sensor Circuit Malfunction
- Glow Plug/Heater Circuit 'A' Malfunction
- Crankshaft Position Sensor A Circuit Low Input
What To Check After Fixing 02864 Code
- Inspect all the connections oxygen (lambda) sensor b1 s1, signal shorted to heater circuit
- Check the engine oil to ensure it's clean and the viscosity
- Restart the vehicle and retest to see if the error returns
