The problem is about catalyst system exhaust bank 3, effectiveness too low retarded timing position, the engine might refuse to start water in fuel condition you can see the engine coolant level sensor / switch, circuit low is the final reason of the code. |
02853 Possible Causes:
02853 vw fault code may be caused by one or more of the following:
- Ignition/Distributor Engine Speed Input Circuit Malfunction
- Cylinder 10 Contribution/balance Fault
- Engine Shutoff Solenoid Malfunction
- Turbocharger Boost Sensor A Circuit Low
- Injection Pump Fuel Metering Control 'A' High (Cam/Rotor/Injector)

What To Check After Fixing 02853 Code
- Inspect all the connections generator shut-off, short to b+
- Check the engine oil to ensure it's clean and the viscosity
- Restart the vehicle and retest to see if the error returns
