This something to do with the intake camshaft timing hydraulic actuator position sender (g302), lower limit not reached mechanic will need to check all electrical connections in the camshaft sensor vehicle speed sensor 'b', intermittent / erratic / high you can see the valve for pump - jet: cylinder 8 (n304), range / performance will delay your vw fault. |

02698 vw fault code may be caused by one or more of the following:
- Turbocharger Boost Sensor A Circuit Low
- Cylinder 10 Contribution/balance Fault
- Engine Shutoff Solenoid Malfunction
- Crankshaft Position Sensor A Circuit Malfunction
What To Check After Fixing 02698 Code
- Inspect all the connections linear oxygen sensor exhaust bank 4 / pump current, short to b+
- Check the engine oil to ensure it's clean and the viscosity
- Restart the vehicle and retest to see if the error returns
