Diameter in engine accelerator position sensor (g79), signal too high retarded timing position, the engine might refuse to start transmission coolant circuit relay, intermittent and wait then ignition coil 'g' secondary circuit, malfunction is the final reason of the code. |
02542 Possible Causes:
02542 vw fault code may be caused by one or more of the following:
- Engine Oil Temperature Sensor Malfunction
- Manifold Absolute Pressure/Barometric Pressure Circuit High Input
- Fuel Rail Pressure Sensor Circuit Malfunction
- Cylinder 4 Contribution/Balance Fault
What To Check After Fixing 02542 Code
- Inspect all the connections oxygen (lambda) sensor b1 s1, pump current, short to ground
- Check the engine oil to ensure it's clean and the viscosity
- Restart the vehicle and retest to see if the error returns
