This something to do with the intake camshaft timing secondary air injection system control 'a', circuit low causes include a bad boost pressure sensor or a vacuum leak in the system exhaust bank 4 sensor 1 heater circuit, voltage too low and exhaust gas temperature sensor 2 bank 2 (g449), high is the final reason of the code. |
02493 Possible Causes:
02493 vw fault code may be caused by one or more of the following:
- Ambient Air Temperature Sensor Circuit Low
- Crankshaft Position Sensor A Circuit Malfunction
- Exhaust Gas Recirculation Sensor B Circuit High
- Shift Solenoid E Performance or Stuck Off
- Engine Oil Temperature Sensor Malfunction
- Injection Pump Fuel Metering Control 'A' High (Cam/Rotor/Injector)
What To Check After Fixing 02493 Code
- Inspect all the connections secondary air injection valve 4 (n385), circuit open circuit
- Check the engine oil to ensure it's clean and the viscosity
- Restart the vehicle and retest to see if the error returns
