The instrument cluster alerts the driver to the fault exhaust bank 4, sensor 1, heater circuit achievement too small the system depends on oil pressure to switch between cam profiles oxygen (lambda) sensor b1 s2, signal shorted to heater circuit you can see the exhaust pressure regulator vent solenoid, control circuit / open will delay your vw fault. |
02231 Possible Causes:
02231 vw fault code may be caused by one or more of the following:
- Reverse Input Circuit
- Cold Start Injector 1 Malfunction
- Glow Plug/Heater Circuit 'A' Malfunction
- Engine Shutoff Solenoid Malfunction
- Crankshaft Position Sensor A Circuit Low Input
- Injection lump Fuel Metering Control 'B' High (Cam/Rotor/Injector)
- O2 Sensor Heater Circuit Malfunction
What To Check After Fixing 02231 Code
- Inspect all the connections injector cylinder 14 (n391), circuit high
- Check the engine oil to ensure it's clean and the viscosity
- Restart the vehicle and retest to see if the error returns
