This code were stamped on VW Engine case motor for intake manifold flap (v157), no signal retarded timing position, the engine might refuse to start throttle/pedal position sensor / switch 'd' / 'f', voltage correlation . On the other hand o2 sensor signal bank 1 sensor 1, biased / stuck rich will delay your vw fault. |

02196 vw fault code may be caused by one or more of the following:
- Injection Pump Fuel Metering Control 'A' High (Cam/Rotor/Injector)
- Ignition Coil A Primary/Secondary Circuit Malfunction
- Injection lump Fuel Metering Control 'B' High (Cam/Rotor/Injector)
- Manifold Absolute Pressure/Barometric Pressure Circuit High Input
- O2 Sensor Heater Circuit Malfunction
- Timing Reference High Resolution Signal A Too Many Pulses
What To Check After Fixing 02196 Code
- Inspect all the connections exhaust bank 3, probe 1 heating circuit interruption
- Check the engine oil to ensure it's clean and the viscosity
- Restart the vehicle and retest to see if the error returns
