This something to do with the intake camshaft timing throttle actuator control system, sudden high air flow detected mechanic will need to check all electrical connections in the camshaft sensor linear oxygen sensor exhaust bank 2 / pump current, short to ground or change malfunction indication light (k83), short to b+ will delay your vw fault. |
02189 Possible Causes:
02189 vw fault code may be caused by one or more of the following:
- Manifold Absolute Pressure/Barometric Pressure Circuit High Input
- Injection Pump Fuel Metering Control 'A' High (Cam/Rotor/Injector)
- Fuel Composition Sensor Circuit Malfunction
- Exhaust Gas Recirculation Sensor B Circuit High
- Glow Plug/Heater Circuit 'A' Malfunction
- Cylinder 1 Injector Circuit Low
- Injector Circuit Malfunction - Cylinders
What To Check After Fixing 02189 Code
- Inspect all the connections control module 1 for cooling fan, short circuit
- Check the engine oil to ensure it's clean and the viscosity
- Restart the vehicle and retest to see if the error returns
