02188 Possible Causes:
02188 vw fault code may be caused by one or more of the following:

- Injector Circuit Malfunction - Cylinders
- Fuel Composition Sensor Circuit Malfunction
- Shift Solenoid E Performance or Stuck Off
What To Check After Fixing 02188 Code
- Inspect all the connections linear oxygen sensor exhaust bank 2 / reference voltage, short to ground
- Check the engine oil to ensure it's clean and the viscosity
- Restart the vehicle and retest to see if the error returns
