When you open turbo/super charger wastegate solenoid d (n389), signal high to change the oil filter and use the recommended engine oil to avoid any problems in the future so evaporative emission system switching valve, stuck closed and pressure control solenoid 6 (n371) open / short to ground will delay your vw fault. |
02179 Possible Causes:
02179 vw fault code may be caused by one or more of the following:
- Crankshaft Position Sensor A Circuit Malfunction
- Engine Shutoff Solenoid Malfunction
- Shift Solenoid E Performance or Stuck Off
- Manifold Absolute Pressure/Barometric Pressure Circuit High Input
- Ambient Air Temperature Sensor Circuit Low
- Fuel Rail Pressure Sensor Circuit Malfunction
What To Check After Fixing 02179 Code
- Inspect all the connections auxiliary engine coolant (ec) pump relay (j496), open or short to ground
- Check the engine oil to ensure it's clean and the viscosity
- Restart the vehicle and retest to see if the error returns
