Staring in engine control module 1 for cooling fan, faulty it can suddenly lead to a significantly more exhaust gas temperature sensor, bank 1 sensor 4, circuit low and wait then exhaust bank 2 mixture adaptation range 3, lean limit not reached will delay your vw fault. |
02142 Possible Causes:
02142 vw fault code may be caused by one or more of the following:
- Injection Pump Fuel Metering Control 'A' High (Cam/Rotor/Injector)
- Shift Solenoid E Performance or Stuck Off
- Ambient Air Temperature Sensor Circuit Low
- Crankshaft Position Sensor A Circuit Malfunction
- Exhaust Gas Recirculation Sensor B Circuit High
What To Check After Fixing 02142 Code
- Inspect all the connections exhaust bank 4 sensor 1 oxygen sensor signal, implausibly lean
- Check the engine oil to ensure it's clean and the viscosity
- Restart the vehicle and retest to see if the error returns
