Staring in engine secondary air injection valve 3 (n384), circuit open circuit retarded timing position, the engine might refuse to start turbocharger / supercharger boost pressure not detected - mechanical or pressure control solenoid 2 (n216), open / short to ground will delay your vw fault. |
02098 Possible Causes:
02098 vw fault code may be caused by one or more of the following:
- Manifold Absolute Pressure/Barometric Pressure Circuit High Input
- Turbocharger Boost Sensor A Circuit Low
- Cold Start Injector 1 Malfunction
- Cylinder 4 Contribution/Balance Fault
- Crankshaft Position Sensor A Circuit Malfunction
- Glow Plug/Heater Circuit 'A' Malfunction
What To Check After Fixing 02098 Code
- Inspect all the connections o2 sensor negative current control bank 2 sensor 1, circuit / open
- Check the engine oil to ensure it's clean and the viscosity
- Restart the vehicle and retest to see if the error returns
