02096 Possible Causes:
02096 vw fault code may be caused by one or more of the following:
- Shift/Timing Solenoid Malfunction/ 3-2 Shift Solenoid Circuit Electrical

- Cold Start Injector 1 Malfunction
- Crankshaft Position Sensor A Circuit Malfunction
What To Check After Fixing 02096 Code
- Inspect all the connections o2 sensor signal bank 2 sensor 3, biased / stuck rich
- Check the engine oil to ensure it's clean and the viscosity
- Restart the vehicle and retest to see if the error returns
