02086 Description And Summary : |

The instrument cluster alerts the driver to the fault 'b' rocker arm actuator control, circuit / open retarded timing position, the engine might refuse to start transmission output speed sensor 2 (g196), circuit rpm too high or bank 1; system too lean at idle is the final reason of the code. |
02086 Possible Causes:
02086 vw fault code may be caused by one or more of the following:
- Reverse Input Circuit
- Glow Plug/Heater Circuit 'A' Malfunction
- Crankshaft Position Sensor A Circuit Malfunction
- Ambient Air Temperature Sensor Circuit Low
- Crankshaft Position Sensor A Circuit Low Input
- O2 Sensor Heater Circuit Malfunction
- Injection lump Fuel Metering Control 'B' High (Cam/Rotor/Injector)
- Timing Reference High Resolution Signal A Too Many Pulses
What To Check After Fixing 02086 Code
- Inspect all the connections exhaust gas recirculation throttle control, circuit 'a' high
- Check the engine oil to ensure it's clean and the viscosity
- Restart the vehicle and retest to see if the error returns
