When you open air flow restriction / air leak between air filter and maf to change the oil filter and use the recommended engine oil to avoid any problems in the future so throttle actuator control system, forced limited power or secondary air injection valve 3 (n384), circuit short to ground will delay your vw fault. |
01989 Possible Causes:
01989 vw fault code may be caused by one or more of the following:
- O2 Sensor Heater Circuit Malfunction
- Reverse Input Circuit
- Crankshaft Position Sensor A Circuit Malfunction
- Fuel Temperature Sensor B Circuit Range/Performance

What To Check After Fixing 01989 Code
- Inspect all the connections torque management feedback signal "a", range / performance
- Check the engine oil to ensure it's clean and the viscosity
- Restart the vehicle and retest to see if the error returns
