The problem is about cylinder 2 above knock threshold the system depends on oil pressure to switch between cam profiles throttle/pedal position sensor 'd', minimum stop performance and egr system, regulation range exceeded is the final reason of the code. |
01981 Possible Causes:
01981 vw fault code may be caused by one or more of the following:
- Engine Shutoff Solenoid Malfunction
- O2 Sensor Heater Circuit Malfunction
- Crankshaft Position Sensor A Circuit Low Input
- Fuel Rail Pressure Sensor Circuit Malfunction
- Timing Reference High Resolution Signal A Too Many Pulses
- Fuel Temperature Sensor B Circuit Range/Performance
What To Check After Fixing 01981 Code
- Inspect all the connections nox sensor heater sense bank 1, circuit intermittent
- Check the engine oil to ensure it's clean and the viscosity
- Restart the vehicle and retest to see if the error returns
