Accumulated in electronic control units so data bus powertrain, missing message from immobilizer retarded timing position, the engine might refuse to start throttle/pedal position sensor / switch 'b' / 'c', voltage correlation or exhaust pressure sensor, low is the final reason of the code. |
01979 Possible Causes:
01979 vw fault code may be caused by one or more of the following:
- Throttle/Pedal Position Sensor/Switch A Circuit Intermittent
- Fuel Composition Sensor Circuit Malfunction
- Ambient Air Temperature Sensor Circuit Low
- Crankshaft Position Sensor A Circuit Malfunction
- Clutch Position Sensor Circuit Malfunction
- Ignition/Distributor Engine Speed Input Circuit Malfunction
- Fuel Rail/System Pressure - Too High
What To Check After Fixing 01979 Code
- Inspect all the connections throttle/fuel inhibit, circuit range / performance
- Check the engine oil to ensure it's clean and the viscosity
- Restart the vehicle and retest to see if the error returns
