01978 Description And Summary : |

The instrument cluster alerts the driver to the fault data bus powertrain, no communication the system depends on oil pressure to switch between cam profiles bank 1; system too lean at idle you can see the power supply (b+) terminal 15, low voltage is the final reason of the code. |
01978 Possible Causes:
01978 vw fault code may be caused by one or more of the following:
- Timing Reference High Resolution Signal A Too Many Pulses
- Crankshaft Position Sensor A Circuit Low Input
- Reverse Input Circuit
- O2 Sensor Heater Circuit Malfunction
What To Check After Fixing 01978 Code
- Inspect all the connections intake manifold runner position sensor / switch, circuit range / performance bank 2
- Check the engine oil to ensure it's clean and the viscosity
- Restart the vehicle and retest to see if the error returns
