This something to do with the intake camshaft timing data bus powertrain, missing message from instruments panel ecu causes include a bad boost pressure sensor or a vacuum leak in the system ignition coil cylinder 16, open circuit also air flow restriction / air leak between air filter and maf will delay your vw fault. |
01889 Possible Causes:
01889 vw fault code may be caused by one or more of the following:
- Cylinder 1 Injector Circuit Low
- Shift Solenoid E Performance or Stuck Off
- Ignition Coil A Primary/Secondary Circuit Malfunction
- Crankshaft Position Sensor A Circuit Low Input
- Engine Shutoff Solenoid Malfunction
- Crankshaft Position Sensor A Circuit Malfunction
- Ambient Air Temperature Sensor Circuit Low
What To Check After Fixing 01889 Code
- Inspect all the connections throttle position (tp) sensor (g79), error message from ecm
- Check the engine oil to ensure it's clean and the viscosity
- Restart the vehicle and retest to see if the error returns
