This code were stamped on VW Engine case a/c clutch relay, circuit short to b+ retarded timing position, the engine might refuse to start vehicle speed signal, circuit open and wait then diesel particulate filter pressure sensor 'a', circuit high is the final reason of the code. |

01870 vw fault code may be caused by one or more of the following:
- Ignition/Distributor Engine Speed Input Circuit Malfunction
- Throttle/Pedal Position Sensor/Switch A Circuit Intermittent
- Exhaust Gas Recirculation Sensor B Circuit High

- Inspect all the connections cylinder 10 above knock threshold
