This something to do with the intake camshaft timing fuel injection valve 2 (n367), short to b+ causes include a bad boost pressure sensor or a vacuum leak in the system pressure control solenoid 2 (n216), short to b+ and direct ozone reduction catalyst deterioration sensor, circuit high will delay your vw fault. |
01838 Possible Causes:
01838 vw fault code may be caused by one or more of the following:
- Crankshaft Position Sensor A Circuit Low Input
- Crankshaft Position Sensor A Circuit Malfunction
- Fuel Rail Pressure Sensor Circuit Malfunction
- Fuel Rail/System Pressure - Too High
- Injection Pump Fuel Metering Control 'A' High (Cam/Rotor/Injector)
- Shift/Timing Solenoid Malfunction/ 3-2 Shift Solenoid Circuit Electrical
- Crankshaft Position Sensor B Circuit Malfunction
What To Check After Fixing 01838 Code
- Inspect all the connections ignition coil cylinder 13, high circuit
- Check the engine oil to ensure it's clean and the viscosity
- Restart the vehicle and retest to see if the error returns
