01779 Description And Summary : |

The instrument cluster alerts the driver to the fault event data recorder request, circuit low retarded timing position, the engine might refuse to start intake manifold runner control (imrc), signal outside tolerance or cylinder 2 above knock threshold will delay your vw fault. |
01779 Possible Causes:
01779 vw fault code may be caused by one or more of the following:
- Exhaust Gas Recirculation Sensor B Circuit High
- Turbocharger Boost Sensor A Circuit Low
- O2 Sensor Heater Circuit Malfunction
- Injection Pump Fuel Metering Control 'A' High (Cam/Rotor/Injector)
- Cold Start Injector 1 Malfunction
- Shift Solenoid E Performance or Stuck Off
- Ignition/Distributor Engine Speed Input Circuit Malfunction
- Engine Shutoff Solenoid Malfunction
What To Check After Fixing 01779 Code
- Inspect all the connections ignition coil cylinder 16, low circuit
- Check the engine oil to ensure it's clean and the viscosity
- Restart the vehicle and retest to see if the error returns
