This something to do with the intake camshaft timing intake manifold runner position sensor / switch, circuit bank 1 retarded timing position, the engine might refuse to start barometric pressure sensor 'a', circuit range / performance you can see the linear oxygen sensor exhaust bank 4 / pump current, short to ground will delay your vw fault. |
01778 Possible Causes:
01778 vw fault code may be caused by one or more of the following:
- Fuel Temperature Sensor B Circuit Range/Performance
- Injection Pump Fuel Metering Control 'A' High (Cam/Rotor/Injector)
- Timing Reference High Resolution Signal A Too Many Pulses
- Throttle/Pedal Position Sensor/Switch A Circuit Intermittent
- Cylinder 1 Injector Circuit Low
What To Check After Fixing 01778 Code
- Inspect all the connections exhaust bank 4, sensor 1, signal too slowly
- Check the engine oil to ensure it's clean and the viscosity
- Restart the vehicle and retest to see if the error returns
