This something to do with the intake camshaft timing throttle actuator control motor, control circuit causes include a bad boost pressure sensor or a vacuum leak in the system secondary air injection system air flow/pressure sensor bank 2, circuit high and ignition switch accessory position, circuit low is the final reason of the code. |
01742 Possible Causes:
01742 vw fault code may be caused by one or more of the following:
- Ambient Air Temperature Sensor Circuit Low
- Fuel Rail Pressure Sensor Circuit Malfunction
- Exhaust Gas Recirculation Sensor B Circuit High
- Glow Plug/Heater Circuit 'A' Malfunction
- Throttle/Pedal Position Sensor/Switch A Circuit Intermittent
- Injection lump Fuel Metering Control 'B' High (Cam/Rotor/Injector)
- Fuel Composition Sensor Circuit Malfunction
What To Check After Fixing 01742 Code
- Inspect all the connections turbocharger control module 1, implausible message
- Check the engine oil to ensure it's clean and the viscosity
- Restart the vehicle and retest to see if the error returns
